Psychology Assessments
for Colleges/Universities

We help Colleges and Universities provide the best support for their students. Our assessments are conducted in accordance with The Specific Learning Difficulties Assessment Standards Committee (SASC) guidelines.

How can a psychology assessment help?

Identifying barriers to learning can help inform educational support provision and suggest reasonable adjustments that can help your students.

Our psychology assessment can be used to support a Disabled Students’ Allowance (DSA) application and provide evidence for extra time and other access arrangements in tests and professional examinations.

What can an assessment diagnose?

Our psychology assessments can diagnose a range of specific learning difficulties including:

  • dyslexia
  • dyspraxia
  • ADHD
  • dyscalculia
  • dysgraphia

A diagnosis will only be given where the clinician thinks this appropriate based on the assessment evidence.

What does an assessment involve?

Before an assessment, we take a full background history and discuss current concerns.

During the assessment, we’ll conduct a diagnostic interview where we’ll test cognition and academic attainment.

Where applicable, we’ll complete a Diagnostic Interview for Adults with ADHD (DIVA) and/or the Diagnostic Interview for Adults with DCD (DIDA).

We make sure we take into consideration any attentional, social communication and mental health needs.

An assessment usually takes 2-3 hours with a short break.

After the assessment

Within 1 – 3 weeks you’ll receive a detailed written report containing recommendations for future educational provision and reasonable adjustments with work and study.

We’ll also schedule a video consultation call to feedback the findings of the assessment.

Remote assessments

We offer remote assessments across the UK if you’re unable to attend our St. Albans practice.
